As of now, TSB registered production houses are looking for feature length film (digital / theatrical) scripts in Hindi / English language.
There is no limitation on the genre and as long as you are convinced of your story, you may feel free to submit it irrespective of it being perceived as either "commercial", "indie" or any such undefinable adjectives by a third party.
Any individual, irrespective of their background, experience, or connection to the industry, can submit a synopsis as long as it is registered with the SWA (Screenwriters Association).
The individual could be either a Writer or Writer-Director.
Once an approved Writer logs in, they will be able to view their submission and number of views on it.
For now, kindly upload only the registered synopsis. In case there is any interest shown by a production house (or filmmaker), then you will be requested to send additional material, including the script.
You may, however, be asked to send in 15-20 pages of the script as a sample before/after your synopsis gets approved. The purpose of this is to simply gain a better understanding of the screenplay and your writing style.
It is advisable to have at least a long treatment (10-20 pages) or/and a first draft ready of the story.
TSB maintains a limited oversight on the kind of synopses that gets uploaded on the platform. However, in order to maintain a base level of quality, all submissions will first be internally vetted before they are approved.
The Writer will be notified via email on the status of their submission within 48 hours from the time of submission.
Once your synopsis is approved, it will be uploaded on the TSB portal which will be visible only to registered production houses. They will be able to see the title, log line, and synopsis of your submission.
All submissions will be kept anonymous such that there is no pre-conceived or confirmation bias with respect to your location, experience, gender, or any other classification. Your writing will speak for itself.
Only production houses (or filmmakers) that have subscribed to TSB will be able to access the Writer's material. The list can be seen under the "Partners" tab on the home page.
Initially, you will be asked to upload only the synopsis. You may feel that your story is best understood via a treatment note or a narration but be rest assured that in case there is any interest shown by any of our partners, you will be notified and asked to either submit additional material or be called for a narration.
TSB enables discovery of your synopsis and writing by decision makers in the film industry who have registered with us. We make it easier for production houses to browse and scout for stories that may interest them or find Writers for their own scripts.
We also engage with production houses and studios on an offline basis to update them of some of the best stories and Writers on our platform.
Once a production house / studio shows interest in your story, TSB will help facilitate your discussion and negotiation until it is acquired or greenlit.
In case you don't have a story to pitch or would like to find opportunities as a Writer, kindly upload your registered Writing sample ie 25-30 page screenplay and leave the logline box as blank.
Once we review your sample, we will get in touch with you.
The Script Bank will make a profit only when the Writer makes money. TSB will be eligible for a 10% commission when the Writer or/and Writer-Director is hired/signed or their story/script is either optioned, acquired, or greenlit.
A submission not getting approved is in no way indicative of your future prospects as a writer. It is simply a reflection of a subjective choice made by the platform.
You may feel free to submit / pitch to producers via other routes available to you.
If you have produced a movie in the past or represent a production house that has produced at least one feature film in the past, you may register yourself by clicking on the "Register as Producer" button on the homepage.
Once you submit the details, we will get back to you within 24 hours with the status of your registration.
Yes. For Writers already represented by an agency, TSB becomes another avenue for getting their scripts noticed.
For unrepresented Writers, TSB may assume the role of your agent following mutual agreement of the same.
TSB is currently in Beta mode which means that certain features are in the testing phase and subject to modification based on feedback and performance. This includes the look and design of the website which is representative of a working prototype only.
However, this does not disrupt the service of writers being able to submit their synopsis and production houses being able to browse them.
You may write to thescriptbank@gmail.com for any questions which are not already covered in this section.
